Perhaps their decision was a negative one. I cant see how Jet2 could stop them operating, solicitors themselves said they dont gave a case against jetXtra.
The problem more than likely lies with the rigidity of their business plan. And if they have overlooked the ATOL licence before putting flights on sale, what else may they have overlooked?

Well I just put another post on Jetxtra's facebook wall late last night asking whats going on and if there is any more news updates. I'm now awaiting another reply from them. They were quite quick to reply to my earlier post 2 weeks ago.
If and when they post I'll let you all know what they have replied with.

I take it by his silence on facebook, and the website still under construction, this venture has fallen flat on its face.
The least he could do is tell people where hes at in relation to the CAA, as just over two months is not enough lead in time.
Last I heard was that albastar may be looking for another operator to sell their seats as they are scheduled to fly the routes. Even still that seems unlikely at this late stage.

On a positive note, as someone who bought a ticket, I can say that Jetxtra kept in touch with me during during this sorry saga. They didn't go to ground and were available and as helpful as they could given all the circumstances.
I'd like to think they haven't abandoned their plans entirely for Humberside. Maybe this winter or spring 2013?? (You'll gather I've soft spot for start-up businesses.)
Whatever happens, surely the enthusiasm Jetxtra plans received and the effective sales work started by HAT will at least be good for route marketing by HUY!

If refunds have been offered and were available for customers, who we are led to believe are not many,as the CAA stopped them selling early on and removed the ATOL,then why no official announcement? Why are there no updates coming from this man for or through the airport? Re-assurance? future plans and contingencies? This is VERY bad press to not keep HUY/HAT informed. This company is a liability in my eyes.He/they have probably stopped Albastar from flying from here this season and,who knows, possibly made them cautious of anything HUY in the future. Although we all accepted this individual with a fanfare of trumpets,as a beacon of hope in a much beleagured market place which has squeezed HUY particulaly tightly, the man seems to have had NO idea as to what he was doing. We all know that if we supplied aircraft and routes out of here we would be on to a winner, the difference is we all know how hard it can be to set up the relevant CAA,DoT and ATOL paperwork as well as all the other bullmuck needed to operate.Sadly this man and his backers chose to forget or overlook the basics. The airport is not blameless. Why get this company involved without checking that the correct accreditation and licences were in place? At the same time I think they didn't bother to doggedly chase ALL competitors in this field as additional flight suppliers. When this started to falter and Ryanair did you usual pulling out stunt,it left HUY with only 5 holiday flights for summer 2012.This is simply not acceptable from HUY/MAG. The last I heard was that freight was being looked at,but I will believe that when I see it land! The perishable goods hub must be rushed off their feet with one fish flight a week. Reality check is in order at the management level.Airports need aircraft but don't just accept anyone claiming to be the next big thing without checking some background.
As an after thought, no wonder Jet2 wanted it clearly stating that JetXtra were in no part linked to them.

Still absolutely no public statement whatsoever. I wonder if he has been told 'where to go' by both the CAA and HUY?

JetXtra's website has now been updated with a statement similar to that put on facebook a couple of days ago. Although many people will have their doubts about this operation, particually after what has happened over the last few months - I think JetXtra are the only hope of growth in the short term, with HUYs Thomas Cook flights still not bookable for 2013, and only one charter confirmed so far...

Believe it when I see it on the tarmac I'm afraid. I hope they actually get their ATOL licence in order and make their website look professional and not like a GCSE project.
