Last post on Facebook was 30th September.Unless I am mistaken,I could not see any links on the JetXtra.com webpage for Facebook or Twitter.May we assume that JetXtra and Europort Express have ceased to be,gone to see their makers, gone to join the choir invisible etc and any resemblance to the dead parrot sketch may not be coincidental. A high profile and lack of awareness cannot be blamed, as most people I have spoken to still enquire about them(or lack of them)

Re Jetxra- it certainly is getting near the latest time they could get involved in summer 2013 holiday charters. Still signs of some life on their website but then there has been on and off for over 6 months now!
Europort Express said they were waiting until Ryanair showed their hand about their next Dutch base. We should know tomorrow which Dutch airport they will grace with a base presence in 2013 - Eindoven looks a good bet (press conference booked there) which, baring surprises, leaves Rotterdam free.

I would think people have written jetXtra off by now.
As for Europort, bit harder to say. If it is who ive been told is behind it then they have no more chance of getting off the ground than jetXtra. Ryanair wont matter one bit, even if they flew from RTM, most of the proposed Europort routes would not clash with anything FR would have to offer.
Even if these attempts actually got off the ground, does anyone really expect they'd last? Is it really what HUY needs? I'd prefer to keep an eye on what the established operators are doing, unless a credible new outfit emerges.

jetXtra press release made at 5.45 pm on a Friday night. They are to fly to PMI and ALC next year from HUY and PMI from MAN.. Taking seats on Lowcostholidays flights. www.jetxtra.com/index.htmlAt least we know these flights are already happening. Slight website improvement but still definately wouldn't book through it.

Jet2 move is interesting considering the spat at the begining of the year.

Hmm.Interesting development. Will this lead to more flights in time?Certainly didn't imagine the MAN/Jet2 link up ever happening.

Doubt it. I suppose if lowcostholidays were to announce more routes then they may negotiate for some seats. Clearly the airline thing isn't working for them.

This is good news for the airport because it means that there is another party committed to making the new flights a success and to growing services here. Very interesting about the Jet2 allocation in Manchester - business is business eh!!
I have no connection whatsoever with the airport team but I must say I admire their creative approach to getting new business. They seem to understand that if you want something to happen you've got to do something about it yourself. They haven't just gone after a Fairy Godmother in the shape of an established operator (although it is important to try and get one to come to HUY) they've gone about forming alliances and partnerships to set up what look to be two very viable services. Let's hope they can build on this and put more eggs in the HUY basket!

I dont think they have had anything to do with this announcement.
As far as established operators go, I dont think you can get more established than Thomas Cook. Lowcostholidays are also an established organisation, though chartering their own flights appears to be a first.
There has been a suggestion on their facebook page, in answer to someones question, that they cannot afford to charter their own aircraft for such a small program. How many times has their business plan changed in the last year in public?
Its good to see someone else selling seats on the new flights, but if they have no money now, I wouldn't think they will in the future. If successful, any new routes would be dependant upon somebody else operating them.

Article from Grimsby Telegraph today.
JetXtra.com to offer Alicante and Palma flights from Humberside Airport
FLEDGLING flight operator JetXtra.com will soon be taking off from Humberside Airport.
The new company, which has sorted out a naming issue that threatened to escalate into legal action with Jet2, will now offer Alicante and Palma as destinations for summer 2013.
HERE COMES THE SUN: Fledgling flight operator JetXtra.com has clearance to launch the sale of seats to Alicante and Palma for next summer.
The tie-in with Humberside Airport Travel comes as Humberside Airport confirmed September destinations of Lake Garda in northern Italy and Porto, Portugal's second city, with Newmarket Holidays.
Paul Litten, commercial director at Kirmington, said: "The airport is delighted someone else is getting behind the Alicante and Palma services operating next year."
Two Palma flights and an Alicante departure, are joined by Jersey, Bulgaria, Turkey and Tunisia on the flight information boards next summer.
The one-off trips to Italy and Portugal offer "an additional 500 people the chance to go away to somewhere that wasn't an option before," said Mr Litten.
Lake Garda joins a cruise link-up to Venice, as well as Naples and Verona in an Italian quartet of single charters, with Madeira, Croatia and the French Riviera also on the list.
Following an end to the dispute over the "Jet" naming, which started with a solicitors' letter, Liverpool-based JetXtra.com has retained its original title, and is now keen to boost the numbers taking up the seats. Flights from Humberside to the Costa Blanca and Majorca will operate every Tuesday between May 28 and September 24.
JetXtra.com director Daniel Reilly said: "We are delighted to announce that in co-operation with Humberside Airport Travel we are now offering services from Humberside Airport to Alicante and Majorca. Passengers can enjoy a free luggage allowance of 20kg, allocated seating, no card charges and our underlining focus on making fares transparent for them."
All flights are ATOL protected by JetXtra.com's parent company; Independent Worldchoice Holidays, which brings more than a decade of travel industry experience to the fore.
Of the issue with Jet2, Mr Reilly said: "The situation was eventually resolved after several months of letters back and forth. We explained that we did not have any intention of attempting to confuse the public into believing we were part of Jet2, our brand and logo are purposefully different to theirs for this reason, our website statistics also showed us that nobody had landed at jetXtra.com by mistake having been searching for Jet2."

Within days of a relaunch they have removed one of the routes that they announced. No mention has been made of why and every reference to Jet 2 or Manchester removed from the site. I believe the whole setup is poor and amateurish and I would never book a flight with them. Isn't this set up just a small scale travel agency selling seats for another company ? They haven't chartered anything. Their prices are equal if not higher than booking with LCH or HAT so who would you rather book with ?

Exactly watcher, how they can be making any money whatsoever is beyond me..? Even so, with 114 'likes' on Facebook they've clearly got a way to go on the marketing side . I hope this doesn't affect the LCH flights in any way.
