The extra capacity on the BA London routes (extra BA schedules to LHR & the new LCY service) has seen Flybe take the decision to axe LGW from the winter schedules - presumably permanently, with EZY on the LGW route. The 175 to be switched to BHX, meaning the based Q400 is to go - according to PPRUNE.
Once again, Flybe decide ABZ is not worth expanding. Can't they redeploy the Q400 onto another new route?
Flybe really are all mouth no trousers when it comes to expansion. Talk the talk but...
Perhaps they are unaware of the constant healthy growth here & booming economy.

I guess LGW charges will be a factor here - apparently they don't offer a cheaper rate for regional aircraft. Add in the competition from Easyjet to LGW, and in the wider London market and I guess it's not too much of a surprise. It's not just LGW-ABZ going, LGW-NTE is too
Also while ABZ might be doing well, Flybe did note recently about the poor state of the overall business travel market. In addition they are moving more of their fleet over to contract flying, and have had the opportunities at EMA (EDI/GLA/CDG/AMS/JER) that needed a quick response before someone else came in. All that means any poorly performing routes aren't going to be sustained. BE need to take 'corrective' action, if nothing else to satisfy the markets
And I'm the sure proceeds of the Gatwick slots will provide a nice little payday
At least BHX gets an aircraft upgrade, a small sign of confidence in ABZ
