As the result of today's football matches, there is likely to be a considerable increase in football-related charter traffic at Humberside between August 2013 and May 2014. This should be a useful benefit to both HUY and Eastern Airways.

It actually started yesterday with Cardiff City's arrival using Eastern Airways and departure of course today. Long may it continue.

Mr. Murdoch's £120m. wealth re-distribution scheme should produce a boost to the economy throughout the region. The only possible local losers I can identify (who might lose business as a result of an increase in the travel budget) are the North Riding bus company, Eddie Brown Tours. No doubt they will be compensated by greater numbers of travelling spectators who cannot afford to fly!

Looking at the teams who will be in the PL next season, eleven teams could fly to HUY.

That looks about right. Assuming that Hull City reciprocate with their travel arrangements, there would be 44 movements. At 25 passengers per flight this would total 1.100 pax.

A quick "google"will reveal several companies who organise charters.
