On a thread on pprune it is saying Thomson is leaving DSA for LBA. Anyone heard anything about this?
I still maintain DSA is unecessary.

A poster on the uk airports forum attended the LBA Consultative Committee this week and asked about TOM expansion at LBA. They got told LBA was not in talks with LBA currently, though a Jet 2 person was apparently present so maybe it was an untruth to protect commercial confidentiality
However if TOM are proposing to leave DSA, Peel have to no choice to offer them an amazing deal to try and keep them (unless they have a replacement lined up) because without TOM, DSA really would be in trouble.
Though I cant see TOM leaving DSA - they have built up their operation there, and have very little direct compeition. Cutbacks maybe, but withdrawal would shock me.

I dont know about this one, i think TOM have a longterm contract with Peel for DSA, something in n article said 10 years?
I do think they may downsize their commitment and go back to LBA in a bigger way, i can see Bridgepoint being interested in getting more ATOL protected services for pax confidence.

To add to my last post, i have been informed (not sure how reliably as its 3rd party info) that TOM contract with Peel at DSA runs out this year and that they will be leaving...
Pinch of salt taken i suppose anything is possible at the moment.

In interesting fact is that Thomson now put many of it's LBA passengers onto Jet2 aircraft exiting Leeds. The Thomson rep can be seen on many occasion looking out for their passengers joining the queue for check-in at the Jet2 desks. Now I know they might be happy carrying on doing this but it could also highlight to them that they should have kept the full operation at LBA.

Its rearing its head again, several rumours around about LBA getting a TOM base again next year. If it goes ahead it is uncertain to the operations of DSA. I personaly would have thought that it would be just cutting back based units at DSA to operate from LBA, though with the recent dispute between Peels DTV and BMIBaby these contracts dont seem to hold much persuasion anymore.
