At least 7 diversions from LCY today due wind strength/crosswinds.

It was certainly a busy few days with, I think, four LCY diversions of Saturday, three on Sunday and nine on Monday. All that was rather spoiled though by SEN not getting the weekly BA Cityflyer flights this summer to PMI, IBZ, AGP and FAO which, of course, have been snapped up by STN.

LGW closed due aircraft incident, EZY aircraft flying right past SEN whilst diverting to STN and LTN. I wonder whether SEN was even considered or contacted by EZY Ops to see what could be taken.

As long as LCY send em we will keep accepting em.... ...indeed; 2 more CFE E190s and a CityJey RJ last night, due to a hiccup at LCY.

Shame that the late running CFE50L ZUR-LCY is diverting to STN. I wonder if this is due to the difficulty of arranging onward travel to London for the pax. in the eyes of CFE Ops. Maybe they have not been informed of the new coach arrangement (which could have been very suitable for this tonight), especially with the BCY128 from DUB late running to SEN. Mind you, the coach only has limited capacity, and probably wouldn't cope with 2 planeloads mostly for London.

Yesterday also saw an easyJet diversion into SEN of a BHD-STN flight caused I believe by a combination of low cloud base, low-vis ops and crosswinds at STN.

I believe the fact this didn't come to Southend was due to a technical issue meaning the aircraft required Stansted over Southend.

The Aurigny E195 which diverted in on Sunday seems to have been SEN's sole gain from the LGW runway closure that afternoon. On the same day the Cello Bae146 which diverted in from Lydd was of some interest for the amount of time it spent in the holding pattern at Lydd - just over two hours. The problem appeared to be low cloud coupled with the high operating minima of Lydd's offset ILS. It was able to position to Lydd later in the day.

A few diversions so far this morning, due to a 'Black lives matter' protest shutting the LCY runway.
