Kristiansand route to transfer from Stansted from Summer 2020. The passenger levels on this route probably make it more suited to SEN than STN, and a smaller airport size probably nicer experience for the Norwegians.

A little research (and a prompt from Expressflight elsewhere) told me that Wideroe last had SEN as a destination back in 1966. At that time Norwegians’ flew to Southend on day trips - not for a stroll on the pier - but to visit London.
Times have changed but with an 11:50 arrival at SEN, you would think that that would be perfect for travelling to the capital, checking in to your hotel, perhaps a meal and taking in a show in the evening, before a romantic evening (you know what these Scandinavians are like) then a leisurely breakfast before making your way back to the airport.

I can get the source tweet to show if I wait a while for it to load. Leave your post up anyway if the link to the tweet isn't working for some

The first day of the summer timetable, and I see that the Kristiansand is still flying, but heading into STN not SEN.

The KRS-SEN route is no longer for sale on the Wideroe website. It has not been transferred to another UK airport. For now there are no direct flights between KRS and the UK, only connections.
BGO-SEN is for sale and being promoted. I might guess that London is not seen as a safe destination for Norwegian travellers who would presumably comprise the majority on the KRS route whereas BGO is perhaps more likely to attract UK originating pax.

They were yesterday - could it be that they are in process of updating their website at the moment?

Just checked their website and Kristiansand is still on sale with direct and stopover services via Bergen both available.

Yes I must have caught the website in the middle of an update. Now it shows direct KRS-SEN starting on October 26, 5 per week. Prior to that it is just the routing via BGO, 2 per week.

Indeed, Kristiansand now appears to commence direct on 29 March 2020. You can currently connect to Kristiansand via Bergen as well as numerous other destinations.
