Binter are considering UK flights
Binter seem to be a good fit for HUY. No competition to the Canaries, and Binter's E195-E2's shouldn't require significantly more airport staff than a KLM E190. Hopefully HUY are speaking with them.

Admire your optimism, sadly at the moment the airport will be lucky to have KLM with the sad state of affairs regarding ATC at the minute. Special measures apparently, or so I’ve heard through the grapevine. I do hope the local authorities are keeping a keen eye on the situation, as the loss of Doncaster should start ringing alarm bells.

The current NOTAM's seems to 'protect' KLM operations - some days closing at 1730 or 1815 but reopening at 2030. There is an Air Traffic Controller vacancy on the airport website

There is an Air Traffic Controller vacancy on the airport website It just appears that the owners/management are happy to operate on a shoe string. Appreciate times are tough and still somewhat uncertain, but there is a market now for then to exploit, and they do need to start trying to retain their ATC staff. Regarding the topic on this thread, it would be nice if they looked at Humberside certainly. No doubt the mayor up at Teesside will have offered to pay them to go there already. CWL will no doubt be angling too.
