A transport enthusiast has produced a YouTube video proposing a three-platform terminus station at Humberside Airport. A single track line would be constructed from Barnetby le Wold to Car Park 3 where the station would be built.
If traffic growth at HUY were ever to grow to the extent that a three-platform railway station was fully utilised, I suspect that there would need to be many other additions to the infrastructure. This might include a road tunnel for the A18, a northward extension to the runway and a completely new passenger terminal. The obvious place for such a terminal would be near the railway line on the Croxton Road.
Neither of these ideas look very likely in the immediate future, but it is good to see someone with a positive idea for the airport.

I don’t think there will ever be the need for a train station at the airport. I do think the road access from M180/A15/A180 could be better though, the current terminal area and business park is constrained by the A18. I don’t foresee growth happening that would necessitate a new terminal. I recall MAG had a long term plan to build a new terminal on the Caistor road side of the runway if they ever reached such passenger numbers that required it. They n the best case scenario growth of the terminal could be completed to the side of the current building, but even then when the airport has a stated capacity of something like 800,000 passengers per year I can’t see it ever reaching that figure.
