The long-established Flying Club at ABZ has closed. There has been a Club at Dyce since at least 1969, when Pegasus was set up, changing hands in the 90s to Tayside Aviation - since been a couple more transferrals of ownership, but it has been increasingly more difficult to fly in the local area & especially circuits at Dyce, having to take your turns in traffic. However, Signature have hiked up parking fees at the Club by the small matter of 840% (!!! ) & that, plus the cost per "touch & go" at ABZ (£16 a time) has made it totally uneconomic. Maybe one day a Club will be established again, but not until ABZ is much quieter again. Perhaps Signature are expecting to handle "more important" business traffic, esp lovely business jets if a certain Property Tycoon's golf application goes through, plus increasingly for the oil industry.
