I see that Octobers figures, @76,924, are lower than in 2005...the year the airport first opened for trade!

I dont think HUY's have been as low as currently for ten years. So its not realy good either way. At least HUY is in a far better financial position currently though.

The figures will be worse this month as it looks like Flybe have cut the Belfast flights, none Tuesday and Wednesday.

Thats a worse service than was operated out of SCA....I see even Belfast is advertised as a "short break". After nearly 5 years DSA operates scarcely a flight for the business traveller!

This months edition of 'Aviation News' says that three potential stakeholders are showing interest and that an announcement is expected next month. Interestingly the article is entitled Doncaster airport not Peel Airports.
I would suspect that a new investor would be solely interested in LPL and see the other two as excess baggage. Will be interesting to see what happens. Perhaps a change of direction for their two 'secondary' airports?

I shouldnt be at all surprised if we dont end up with a "Cambridge "sort of operation out of DSA. Aerospace related businesses with a very limited range of destinations on offer....Something like that is already emerging?

I cannot see TOM leaving in the medium term, though i can see them going back into LBA and reducing their presence at DSA. Similarly Wizz will likely hang on but it will always be under the infuence of the fickle Polish economic migrant market and therefore will be chopped and changed to suit.
I would think that city destinations by FlyBe could have a chance but would they be prepared to expand considering the poor performance of BHD?
Looking at the dried fruit forum, FR will be returning to a daily BOH-DUB service from spring 2010. If DSA cant even get that back then it realy doesnt say much for its current intentions.
It may sound harsh but i find the whole thing quite laughable on the whole. The few of us long-term detractors can say 'told you so' at the moment. I wonder if that will ever change? Im thinking not.

An examination of some of the evidence presented to the "Enquiry" makes it pretty clear that the only likely outcome for DSA was for Charter type, leisure flights. Thus far it looks as if thats the case. Peel are property developers so , in the long term, they cant lose (too much).

They are a very easy lot to offend, some of them to the point of being almost neurotic!
