Does anyone know when we will start to see if anything will materialise for the next winter season? I believe that with the four popular Canaries destinations alone that HUY management should be talking to Jet2 and the like. I believe that by this time, airlines like Jet2 should be able to free up an aircraft to at least outstation at HUY for as few days... I am led to believe that many of the crews reside in East Yorkshire so it wouldnt be a problem haveing a BLK type set up at HUY.
I know winter is not the best time to set up an operation but could the cost difference between letting an aircraft have more downtime and trying new routes tip the balance?
This is of course all hyperthetical, im not even sure Jet2 are still interested in new bases.
Failing that perhaps BE could be convinced to run a GVA flight during the ski season?

At a guess winter tour operator brochures will be out soon, not that I expect HUY to feature in them
Suppose a BE GVA isn't totally impossible, but other than that I think it will just be ABZ and AMS again

Same for Thomson too sadly. First Choice will just be their Lapland daytrip

I kind of guess that with NWI and MME getting them. that it puts Jet2 into question from those places, going by what ive been told! Though im just assuming from information ive got.
Its a shame realy as had they not been operting from DSA we wouldnt have lost any of the flights.

Interestingly TCX seem to be outbasing an aircraft at BOH in November to fly to TFS and MIR. Now I know BOH has slightly different circumstances with the 3 month FR withdrawal, but I thought the reason TCX pulled out of HUY in winter was due to the costs of outbasing ...

Its because they holed up crews in a hotel in Hull for much of the week throughout the season. It was just getting too expensive.
The new hotel could potentially change that.

lets hope it does change now the hotel is open, i can imagine its quite exspensive been holed up in hull, but i bet the crew might like the night life in hull tho, better then looking at the quarry lol

It was the expense of actually paying for the hotel and getting the crews to and from Hull everyday so i am led to believe... May be different now though, i know they bwanted to go back to their main bases and BOH in November is hardly a full season..
