Strong rumours in today's fish 'n' chip papers that ABZ stands to benefit with more services to the continent with the recent Flybe order for the 175.
New links to Germany, France & Scandi were mentioned & also an increase in domestic capacity, including more flights to Gatport Airwick.

Quite a few regional papers had similar articles about their airports, with positive but none-committal comments from Flybe. Sounded a lot like PR spin
What substance there was indicated announcements about some of the first new EMB-175 routes will occur in 6-7 months, with the first route being Guernsey-Gatwick to replace a Dash 8

Indeed H, that thought had occurred! Flybe do spin quite well don't they!
I get the impression Mike Rutter gave a stock answer to just about every local newspaper hack going!

More "spin" today? Rumours locally of a link to Helsinki following the agreement between Flybe & Finnair, with Mike Rutter quoted that ABZ could be one of three or four suitable UK destinations.

New Manchester service announced - 3xMon-Fri, 1xSat, 2xSun www.flybe.com/news/1009/27_1.htmInevitable 'joining the dots' IMO. Seems to be operated from the Manchester 'end' of the route, so I imagine they can co-exist with bmi regional

Interesting to see whether bmiR put up a fight on their main route out of ABZ. They've had this route to themselves for a wee while now. Would like to think that MAN can support more than one operator. But history of ABZ tells me very few ABZ-domestics are sufficient to allow two operators to co-exist.

bmi regional still have frequency advantage (6xDaily on weekdays I think), plus the first flight from ABZ in the morning. They are going to be affected but I'm sure they can keep going
