Post on pprune that Eastern will be installing an Embrarer simulator at HUY - 3rd party training or a new aircraft type ...
Either way another sign of commitment from T3 to HUY as it's base and a sign of their financial stability if true

Was a report today or yesterday in my local Press & Journal about T3 saying that they were feeling high fuel costs like everyone else in the aviation sector but that they were in a robust position to withstand this.
Why obtain an Embraer sim I wonder. Would they buy one purely to provide Third Party training?
They did indeed fly an Embraer but switched to what they claimed was a more fuel-efficient aircraft in the Saab 2000.
But maybe: i. they can get Embraers dirt cheap (ex Flybe/BACON ones for example) or ii. they cannot source more Saab 2000s so are having to look to another aircraft type to further their expansion plans - they were looking into Europe more & more. Perhaps having used Embraers in the past, they want to go back to what they are familiar with.
Strange timing, with the current Credit Crunch, or inspired move - IF it's all true?

Certainly does raise more questions than answers. Jets generally have more range than turboprops so that could be a reason -but then with fuel prices turboprops are cheaper to operate. And are we dealing with ERJ-135/145 or a larger EMB-170/175/190/195
Can't find that article online yet sadly

Don't know if this adds credence to the Embraer story, but I heard the bmi tractor at ABZ the other day heading for the Eastern A/W hangar. bmi hangar on the east side at ABZ, Eastern on the west. Was there an Embraer there? ?
