Doncaster now removed from Thomas Cook booking engine. Something is happening between LBA, HUY and DSA. I think HUY may miss out.

No offensive pug, But I think you jumped the gun on this.
As I just checked and at the moment i think you will find that Doncaster is still in the the Thomas Cook, website booking system for next summer 2013. They have once weekly flights to Dalaman and twice weekly to Palma available. As I have said many a time now. The Leeds and Humberside programmes have not been finalised yet along with other UK airports.
As I Understand they are plenty of other routes still to be loaded into the Thomas Cook website as the full Summer 2013 programme is not on sale yet.

Their routes from each airport (DSA, HUY, LBA) can clash, and their ongoing financial ussues wont help. I just checked and it only allows me the DLM flight from DSA, so maybe different for you. There is no doubt that there will be much change between now and next May, however there is a risk of capacity problems due to this news.. www.ttgdigital.com/news/cook-aircraft-sales-to-raise-1829m/4683970.article

Further update regarding Thomas Cook @ both LBA & HUY. I just sent somebody who works for Thomas Cook a message and got a quick reply from them.
So it still looks like as I said before that both the LBA and HUY programmes are still not finalised but will be out shortly. I can't do much more than that.

Thanks for checking Ross, hopefully there will at worst be no change to this year for both airports.

If people on Pprune are to be believed (and there is no reason not to), LBA is being scrapped for next year. Considering HUY is not on sale either I would expect that HUY is gone also..
I hope they put the holidays on sale and I'm proven completely wrong, however I think there is too much to suggest otherwise.

As things stand then, I know its early, for Summer 2013 there is one confirmed weekly charter to Bourgas.

Olympic Holidays say their S13 Greek holidays are now on sale, all islands are loaded and hotels are being added daily. Nothing is available from HUY yet.

Nothing available from DSA to Greece yet either, though I think at DSA they don't take allocations on TOM, just book seats as and when customers request it
I really hope we haven't lost Olympic though....

I wouldn't worry to much yet as Leeds/Bradford is also not on sale as well. Olympic Holidays normally take allocations on both Thomas Cook Airlines and Jet2's flights here.
So like Humberside I wonder if Olympic Holidays are awaiting Thomas Cook Holidays plans regarding there summer 2013 services with them not be on sale as yet? It is understood that they are due to release details of both there Leeds and Humberside 2013 programmes early next month in June.

Olympic Holidays operate their own flights from HUY to HER using Aegean, so what Thomas Cook will or will not be doing shouldn't affect that route at least.

LBA-HER is loaded for S13.. I think they use Jet2 for that one however, and Jet2 have already loaded their timetables.
I echo Humberside and hope this isn't another lost route for the airport. As things stand still just one confirmed weekly charter for S13.

Whilst scanning through the Olympic Holidays Website i noticed that all the holidays that are bookable use other UK based airlines that have already released their own timetables. Humberside are using Aegean airlines and none of their flights appear so far. On that basis I am not too concerned yet.

I echo above in hoping that this is not another lost route/tour operator for the airport, although I have also heard Thomas Cook is not definitely gone for S13, but nor is it definitely staying.
It does make you wonder if the flights from Humberside this year have been difficult to fill up though, with the recession/spending cuts putting people off foreign holidays? On the fly thomas cook website, the Tuesday Dalaman flight has seats available for all dates from 12th June to 18th September (Excluding the weeks it misses in early July) - even at the start of the school summer holidays when you would expect places to be pretty much booked up by now, Palma looking a little better though - with 4 of the 14 flights between 16/06 and 15/09 appear to be booked up so far, looking at the booking engine anyway.

I agree, Im not suggesting it isnt happening yet, and I know they will be releasing more in June according to an earlier post on here.
I.personally think that Thomas Cook/FlyThomasCook have been offered a good deal at DSA.. Would explain the delay to putting HUY and LBA on sale. Afterall if the problem was the LBA base, then at least DLM would be on sale due to it being operated by Pegasus. Im sure it wont be long before we find out what they are doing, as Ross has been told on an early June entry.onto the system, and they wont want to waot too long.
As for lower disposable incomes. That is certainly an issue, however not too long ago the airport had 6-8 weekly flights to PMI alone (some on 767's) alongside DSA, so the losses as HUY far outweigh to the lost jobs, and provide more of an example of how the airlines are funneling passengers through their bigger airports instead, which is directly affecting both HUY and DSA.
