Press conference at Ljubljana tomorrow as Wizzair are returning to that airport. Possibly 3 new UK routes announced, so a potential new route for DSA.

Yep it dose seem like Wizz Air are cutting back on 4 of the routes from Doncaster-Sheffield this winter 2012/13 season. But it is worth pointing out that other UK Airports that Wizz Air serve, Liverpool and London Luton are also getting cut backs this winter
I wonder if the Donny cut backs have anything to do with the competition up the road at Leeds/Bradford by Ryanair?
Gdańsk - from 4 to 3 flights a week Katowice - from 3 to 2 flights a week Poznań - from 3 to 2 flights a week Wroclaw - from 3 to 2 flights a week

The cutbacks seem to be affecting a variety of routes from Poland to different European Countries, so I'd guess the main reason is not FR at LBA
Not the best of news for DSA though

From what I've seen on the dsaf forum from last year, only Katowice is to be reduced by two weekly flights compared to winter 11/12. The other cuts seem to be the usual seasonal capacity reductions So not as bad as it seems.
I dont believe FR at LBA is having an impact either. Wizzair has been arguably the success story as far as passenger flights from DSA are concerned so far, and I was under the impression that most of the users were Polish/Eastern European, in which case I would have thought Wizzair to be their first choice for travel.

Katowice 4 days all Summer next year, this year only 4 during mid summer. Vilnius had an extra flight mid summer this year. None next year. Other destinations same for both years. Anticipate that by the end of next year the overall flights and pax will be very similar to this year.

Possibly big news? An increase in fleet size to 50 from 39 by 2014, plus a suggestion that they hope to carry 1.3 million passengers through DSA 'over the next couple of years'. I think the current number is around 300,000..
Is this suggesting DSA may become a base? If so they would almost certainly open up routes to other parts of Europe IMO.

Just how many people want to travel back and forwards to their existing destinations? The suggestion of an extra 1 million passengers is either meant to be a kite-flying exercise or they may have some additional destinations up their sleeve. Western European destinations would be a blessing!
