Bournemouth Airport owner MAG developments has unveiled details of a £60m scheme to create 540,000 sq ft of new business space at the airport.
MAG Developments has announced the ten-year vision for the 35 acre site at the Aviation Business Park is set to include a range of business premises such as offices, industrial units and warehousing and distribution facilities across five separate plots.
The development, which is supported by Christchurch Borough Council and Dorset County Council, has the potential to create more than 1,000 new jobs over the next decade by attracting new businesses to the area and providing opportunities for expansion for local businesses.
As part of the development, transport links to the business park will be improved. MAG Developments is set to provide a total contribution of £1.1m to Dorset County Council towards improving road, public transport and pedestrian access to the site.
Stephanie Mullenger, general manager for property at MAG, said: "Aviation Business Park has maintained a high level of resilience through the economic downturn and has shown robustness in meeting demand for smaller industrial units and relocating larger units, with occupancy levels now at around 97 per cent.
"This project will continue to build upon those successes, generate more economic activity in the area and support the growth of businesses already based at Aviation Business Park."
MAG Developments secured outline planning permission for the development in December 2011.
