A high grade rumour - an S61N helicopter will commence offshore oil and gas support operations from Humberside on 25th August 2008.

Is that for CHC Scotia? Does it replaces an existing helicopter or is it a new extra one based at HUY?

Yes. Fairly sure Bristow and Bond were operating here simoultaneously, but not sure how long ago. Bristow will not be using the heliport which is solely used by CHC(who are direct competitors). Understand they will be using facilities on the main apron.

Who says the oil price increase is totally bad news for aviation Dont the helicopters passengers/crew require life jackets/special safety briefings? Has part of the terminal been converted for this? Be interesting to see if Bristow win any more work and wish to establish any permanent facilities of their own

Operations appear to be for Stratic Energy. Bristow are using Hangar 5 - which one is that? Their old one?
Anyone know exactly when Bristow operated from HUY in the past and what equipment they used? Thanks

Decent sized operation then for Bristow. One of the most positive developments for a while. Any word on if Bristow are to establish any permanent facilities at HUY, such as maintenance facilities or crew base?
