Just heard over the radio various conversations about a Bristow forced landing! Anyone know any more?

I think it was 523. Crew and passengers seem OK. Bristow ops sending transport to pick them up. ATC and Ops telling other Bristow crews that the aircaft landed OK (but I don't know where).

I think Bristow pulled in another aircraft in the afternoon. The crew was unfamiliar with the local HMR's and SID's. On the way back from offshore the crew was asked by ATC to investigate reports to the coastguard that a light helicopter had landed on the beach at Spurn Point. The FO had to ask ATC where Spurn Point was. He was told: "it's the long strip of land to your right with the lighthouse at the end". He diverted to the area and confirmed there was a helo on the ground but it didn't seem in trouble.
I think there is a multi-crew briefing at Bristow this afternoon to discuss the incident.

Whatever the incident was, they certainly seem to have kept it away from the media, or even a mention on Pprune as far as I can see?

Thanks Springy. Mystery solved. I think it was potentially serious as the a/c had been handed from HUY to Anglia Radar. So, more than likely had already gone offshore (I think it was an outbound flight to the Ravenspur C platform).

From today's HDM 'In Brief': EAST YORKS: A helicopter carrying ten people made an emergency landing yesterday at a tiny airfield on the East Yorkshire coast.
The Bristow S-76 was carrying eight passengers and two crew to an offshore rig from Humberside Airport when it developed a technical problem.
It landed at the tiny Hollym airfield on the outskirts of Withernsea at 9.50am.
Bristow said the helicopter landed safely and no one was injured.
A spokesman said: "A Sikorsky S-76 helicopter operating out of Humberside Airport made a precautionary landing this morning during a routine flight to an offshore installation. The helicopter, which had eight passengers and two crew on board, landed safely at Hollym airfield, near Withernsea.
