Seriously i hope it comes off though, not so long ago we were hearing of the runway closing completely. It would be sad to see another airfield gone!

Discraceful decision, a site with such historical value, a real working WW2 monument (one of a handful in the UK) to have its wings clipped....

Why dont people seem to understand that it wasnt intended to be a six terminal intercontinental superhub? More just a couple of hangars and maybe a good training school?

Im sure they will make millions churning the big runway up. One which was a major engineering feat when built (doesnt get mentioned) just like at Holme on Spalding moor, gone.

This country is worryingly backwards now.
