The latest edition of the Thomas Cook summer 2014 brochure (December)shows a PMI departure from Humberside. There's still hope it won't be lost.It could be an error but the Dalaman flight has been up-dated to its new Monday slot which suggest the page has been reviewed.

Jetxtra's Alicante departures have been up-dated with a BA flight number. However, there is a gap between 14th June and 26th July currently showing no flights. Also, unless Palma's times are to be up-dated, it looks like it's different aircraft! I wonder if Olympic will put ALC on sale now there are flight details??

In the latest Skytours and Thomson brochures two Humberside departures are listed, airline TBA, between 24th May and 13th SeptemberIbiza - depart HUY 1400, return 2015 Palma - depart HUY 1400, return 2020
They aren't however bookable on the Thomson website
It would be nice to think an announcement is imminent and the broochures simply had to be printed before the announcement could be made, but those flight times seem unrealistic, so I'm not going to get excited yet. Clearly though if Thomson do return to HUY it would be a very positive step forward

Very very exciting development for the Airport. Thomson have recently had to cancel the Teeside Palma/Ibiza, and have also rumoured to have made changes to their Southend Palma/Ibiza services - Perhaps these changes are all linked somehow? As Humbersiade said - The flight times are very unusual, in that both flights appear to depart on the same day and return at the same time - I suspect these are temporary timings, as they would imply 2 UK based aircraft positioning into HUY to operate the flights. (Could this also be linked into the Jetxtra offerings - The flight times seem identical?)
Including the potential Thomson flights, Summer 2014 looks like this...
Monday Pegasus B737-800 Dalaman
Tuesday None
Wednesday None
Thursday None
Friday Nouvelair A320 Enfidha
Saturday Flybe DH8 Jersey BA E190 Alicante BA E190 Palma Thomson TBC Palma Thomson TBC Ibiza
Sunday Balkan A320 Burgas

Just to let you know what is happening (or not) at SEN, Thomson were going to do a 2x weekly service to Palma and a 1x weekly service to Ibiza using a Jetairfly 737. Thomson then cancelled the Ibiza route, and has reverted back to the single weekly Palma flight again with Volotea for 2014. Hope this helps.

SEN-IBZ remains in the latest brochure. Another reason not to get too excited just yet by the appearance of HUY-IBZ/PMI. Fingers still crossed though. Guess it will be next year now before anything is confirmed

If anything is to happen, then it will probably go on sale around the time if the HAT event in January.
It goes without saying that nothing is confirmed until it goes on sale. But getting Thomson back on side would be good for the airport in the long run.

Whatever happens or doesn't happen with Thomson summer 2014 it's good to see evidence that Humberside is back on their agenda. Very positive indeed. The best outcome of course would be both flights going on sale soon!

If Thomson are happy enough to sell flights from Southend with fares based on the cost of operating a 125 seater aircraft, would they consider a 98 seater aircraft at HUY? The Saturday departures and timings do look rather like a perfect fit for a British Airways E190. If this is the case, it would look like another HUY-inspired initiative, with Thomson being brought in for their very effective marketing capability.

Assuming that these flights go ahead - Would it not have been easier for Thomson to divert the Teeside flights using the LBA based plane into HUY instead, or operate a W from Doncaster? The more I think about it, I think the 2 most likely outcomes are:
1. These flights have been organised by Humberside Airport Travel/JetXtra, who are selling seats to third party operators. All operated by BA Cityflyer E190 aircraft (hence all leave HUY on Saturday afternoon!). JetXtra have long talked of a larger programme for Summer 14, but their current offering is less flights on a smaller aircraft, on a much shorter season. Could also explain the appearance of Alicante on Olympic Holidays website?
2. Thomson replaced Teeside with Humberside in the brochure, and did not have time to contract an operator for the flights before the brochures went to press, and therefore put in "holding" flight information. Both flights have the same times, same operating dates, and same supplement information. Once a third party operator has been found, the flight times would be updated, most likely with either a W pattern from another UK Thomson base, or a third party operator such as Air Europa.
Of course these could be an attempt of Thomson to "get back" at a certain airport operator for turning flights away. I suspect we will find out early in the new year!

Thomson are using BA Cityflyer and Flybe from Scotland next Summer, so I wouldn't rule out BACF operation if the flights are confirmed

I phoned one of the Thomson shops in Hull today, and said they had not heard anything about these flights. I then told her that they were in the latest brochure, went to look, and came back very excited, she will now be telling the other shops in the area. She said with them been in the latest brochure they should be going ahead. We wait and see.

Interestingly enough the hard copy of 2014 brochure I've seen only had Ibiza - no Palma. Assuming the on-line version is the most up-to-date it looks like Ibiza was being planned first and Palma has been added later - maybe because Thomas Cook seem less and less likely to be running this route. Like John2408, the shop staff where I went were surprised to see it so there has been no internal communication about these flights yet.
