The Jota 146 operated a passenger charter from SEN to BFS on Saturday afternoon, with the aircraft returning in the small hours of Sunday. Hopefully we may see more of this type of activity in the coming months.

Such a pity that the Jota website still does not include the 146 in its fleet listing and the latest News item seems to date from 2013. Rather odd in this day and age is it not?

Yes and one might have thought the LSA website could have given some publicity to the expansion of Jota's operations. But no, too busy perhaps with gripping stories of christmas cards for passengers, still on the website three months on.
Back on thread, the 146 is back at LCY this evening (Sunday).
Edit: Monday, one GLA and one EDI rotation then back to SEN.

There is a BAe146-200 (142) programmed into the BACF LCY schedules every weekday from now until March 27 operating mainly to EDI and GLA but also occasionally DUB. The One World timetable shows the operator as "SN Brussels Airlines" which of course is a nonsense, but appears for some reason on a number of BACF routes. I don't think it can be the Cello aircraft since their 142 is in VIP configuration, they usually send their RJ85 to LCY.
If Jota really have succeeded in gaining all this work from an airline of the standing of BA this is no mean achievement for a new entrant to the market. They must be doing some things right ! I imagine the crews must be happy too after months of uncertainty.
They also reported that during 2014 they flew over 1000 charters which sounds an impressive performance.

It's certainly very good news to see Jota entrusted with the BA work at LCY. They had a busy day yesterday operating LCY-DUB-LCY-ZRH-LCY-GLA-LCY before positioning back to SEN late in the evening. I hope that this work might help establish them as first choice of some of the charter brokers for ad hoc charters in the future.

Hi Everyone - A quick update. Of course nothing goes unnoticed in aviation these days so you guys know everything we do anyway! Especially at Southend. We are keeping fairly busy on the King Airs still which is a good base for us. They are such good aircraft. The 146 operation is now gathering momentum. Always a tough call when we didn't get the operating licence until October. A standing start for the winter is challenging to say the least. We used the quiet time wisely though and got a lot of training done as well as ensuring all of our systems, such as compliance and safety management are up to scratch. We worked really hard to get the BA work and to ensure it wasn't just a flash in the pan. I'm sure you all appreciate that it isn't just a case of pitching up at LCY on the day. There is a lot of auditing going on and ensuring that the interface is seamless. The easy bit is pointing the aircraft towards GLA or EDI. Many meetings, emails and phone calls in the background. We hope to expand the fleet sooner rather than later but of course a nasty winter has focused the mind a bit.

The Jota 146 has followed up its intensive week's flying for BA at LCY with a series of charters this week between Aberdeen and Sumburgh, presumably oil related. Let's hope this high level of activity is maintained over coming months.
Edit: ..... and this afternoon its back flying for BA out of LCY to GLA.

A very positive press release from Jota issued today: - hosted-p0.vresp.com/1763933/bd20cb4a52/ARCHIVESo maintenance is with Avalon at Cranfield. I am still slightly surprised they do not use the SEN-based Inflite though obviously they have their reasons

The 146 seems nicely busy over the past week and has been operating for BA out of LCY again for the past few days. Today it has operated a BA LCY-NCE service as a change from the usual GLA and EDI routes.

Jota's Bae-146 will be operating the Southend United charter on Saturday. Departs the SEN executive terminal at 10:30am to Manchester, around 95 pax.

95 pax going through the Executive Terminal - how does that work out ? Will the facility accommodate 95 at once? Or can they use the section of the old terminal that did not become part of the FBO ?
And dare we hope that SEN might take the opportunity to give a little publicity to Jota (another new facility on the airport) on its website, facebook or twitter page. It really is not inspiring to read of train service alterations of last easter still as a front page news item.

From what I can remember the Executive Terminal is a decent size, so I imagine a maximum of 95 pax should be manageable for them.

Yes the Executive Terminal is quite large and, although not really designed with handing 95 pax in mind, I'm sure it can cope with a single party of that size.
