The draft infrastructure plan includes a page on aviation:
Aviation Challenges
• Humberside Airport does not have a direct rail
link.
• There are limited options to access the airport by
public transport.
• Melton Ross Railway Bridge on the A18, the main
route connecting the airport to the M180 is in
need of replacing. If funding is not secured for
the construction of a new bridge, it is likely that a
weight limit will be implemented, in conjunction
with a long diversion route and potentially traffic
signals to control single lane running. This would
increase journey times between the airport and
the M180 and reduce journey time reliability,
restricting growth at the airport.
Aviation Opportunities
We will continue to work with Humberside Airport
to progress their vision and objectives:
Vision - to be the airport of choice for business and
leisure customers in the region. We will achieve
this through superior customer service and
improving products
Objectives:
• Create sustainable growth across all aviation
sectors – increase Scheduled and Charter Flights
from the airport and increase offshore activity,
with particular focus on the offshore wind
industry.
• Establish a thriving Business Park with high
quality, mixed-use accommodation, which will
attract new business to the Business Park.
• Increase local and national awareness and work
with existing business partners to grow and
develop.
• Provide a stress free and quality customer
experience that meets, and where possible
exceeds, the needs of all our customers market
the varied range of commercial property and
land for development.
Key Action
• Work with Humberside Airport to develop
a master plan

The freight page also mentions the perishables hub:
• The Perishable Hubs based at Humberside
Airport is a 10,000sqf purpose built temperature
controlled facility to hand air freight cargo –
particularly sea food and other perishable goods.
The refridgeration unit has the capacity for
approximately 130 pallets with infrastructure for
airside access to enable perishable goods to be
flown direct to the market reducing food miles
and improving overall supply chain efficiency.
