It's reported elsewhere that SEN's internet server is down and the fact that the website departure boards have not been updated suggests that is true. It was reported that this was the reason so few LCY diversions could be accepted originally.

Even with the server down they've done well to accommodate all this evenings diversions.

KL1515 AMS/NWI has just diverted into Southend due to 100 metre visibility at Norwich.

I suspect that must have been the first FK70 to visit the airport, certainly on a passenger flight? I wonder if they still have the FK-100 tow-bar from the OLT days, and if it fitted.

Yes I think it was. Yesterday morning's AMS-NWI was nearly the first F70 visit as it performed a go around but landed on the second attempt so I kept a close eye on the evening flight and after a brief hold overhead NWI it was on track for SEN. Let's hope we see some more.

So how did they organise the onward travel of the pax to NWI ? Perhaps not the easiest tasks for a journey of that length late in the evening. Is there any feedback as to how successful it was? Presumably KLM must have some contingency plans agreed with SEN if SEN is a regular alternate for NWI ?

Losing out to STN in the diversion stakes tonight. The Lanzarote A320 has just headed there after holding for a while over SEN. It's not often that SEN is fogged in while other airports are clear.

Fairly unusual as you say, although coincidentally, last October 31st (2015), all 3 of the last wave diverted to STN too I believe! The Barcelona went to LGW last night.

After a dismal day at SEN yesterday, 6 diversions from LCY this morning, and I believe 10 LCY arrivals operated through SEN altogether today.
