A number of LCY diversions coming into SEN this morning. So far 4 or 5 VLM/AF F50's and a couple of BA aircraft.

They're still piling in - pity the station isn't open!
I should think ramp space might become a bit scarce shortly.

The provisional breakdown for this morning's sixteen LCY diversions is:
1 x E170 7 x RJ85/100 5 x F50 3 x D328
Breakdown by airline is:
10 x AF/CityJet 5 x BACF 1 x SunAir
All arrived between 0745 and 0935, which by a strange coincidence is one every 7 minutes - the figure which SAEN always use to demonstrate how 'horrendous' the noise would be with an extended runway. I wonder how many people noticed.

Please do. These anti's keep going round in circles! Although some of the anti's letters are interesting to I believe a Boeing 757 was thrown in the mix for maintenance for good measure too. ;D

I like the SEN NOTAM 09/12/17 16:35 to 09/12/18 12:00 "Snow removal eqpt out of service."
Does that mean that when they checked over the 'equipment' in anticipation of last night's snowfall they found it u/s I wonder?
Not great.

I see the airport is now closed to fixed wing aircraft until 10:00 am tomorrow due ice on the runway. Can't imagine any prospective airlines would be too impressed with the airports inability to deal with the current weather conditions. Closer to home I would have thought the flying clubs are none too umpressed either. I would imagine that despite the cold weather, today would be a great day to fly around the county and take in the views. I assume their snow clearing equipment is U/S rather than the fact that they don't feel it's worth doing due limited traffic. Either way, I think it's a poor effort !

Roche, I couldn't agree more.
No doubt they will come up with 'reasons' why the braking action has been 'Poor' all day today when there has been no further precipitation. I know an iced runway is not easy to remedy, but such problems simply have to be resolved as they arise.
Very disappointing and not what I would have hoped for from a place trying to press its credentials as a serious London airport.
I feel slightly better for getting that out of my system a any rate!

The NOTAM now says closed until 1200 today.
I don't know if it originally said 1200 22nd, but it's certainly been corrected now.

I did double check to make sure I wasn't mis reading the date, but it was definatley 22nd earlier today. Now 14:00 today - also now cloudy here, so the temp is up to a tropical 3 degrees.
