Those AMS loads seem to be in line with the pre covid load factors, despite the significant capacity cut. PMI is solid, there is no doubt in my mind that TUI could see those sorts of loads across the board if they were to offer TFS, LPA, ALC, IBZ, HER, CFU, AYT.. I believe that would be fully up to the airport to discuss with then should they be prepared to do so. There are some empty car parks at HUY currently that could generate some revenue. NQY figures are encouraging too.

Will HUY be proactive and chase these routes? No way of knowing because information doesn't seem to leak from there and the local media have not asked the question. We could do with a mole like DSA had but HUY is a smaller workforce so riskier to do this!
At the very least it would bizarre if the 4x weekly summer PMI flights from DSA are all distributed a away from this region when the 1 x weekly currently from HUY sells so well!

I think it’s quite easy to shift some capacity to LBA EMA and MAN as they already have quite a presence at most of those already. Increasing capacity at HUY would require a fair amount of schedule planning to allow for w patterns, or would require a base or outstationed aircraft. Noticed the new large advertising board above the security area at Humberside added in the last week. Only advertising PMI but it shows dialogue is happening. Humberside Airport Travel may be integral in getting further capacity added. They do actively need to go out and attract the business though, I’m not sure there is anyone in place currently doing that?

Could Humberside look to gain from any of the other operations from Doncaster such as 2Excel? A quick look on the news page on their website shows a recent 10 year contract awarded to a Bristow lead consortium, working in partnership with 2Excel. www.2excelaviation.com/2excel-sar2g-award/

Suspect it would need considerable investment in facilities though, particularly for the 727’s. Also require H24 but the helicopters currently do that. These sort of things would solidify HUY’s core business. It’s also not far for the staff to move over from DSA so offers benefits in that sense too. Be interesting to see what happens.
