The Mayor is talking about early 2025 as the earliest they c8ould acquire the airport land and buildings if CPO goes through without further legal challenge. What then? They need to secure an operator, airlines, staff, ATC equipment etc - these parties/people will not sign-up until details of the deal for them are absolutely clear and the project looks viable. They may flag up early "interest" but thats all. In a sense, her plan to acquire the land is the straight forward part of the Council's strategy. What needs to happen after that is anything but straight forward. It becomes a speculative commercial venture with many unkowns and risk. I think the leasehold is key here, as the latest update from her said that Peel had returned with another leasehold offer which their ‘property and aviation advisors’ are drafting a response to. If it comes to CPO it just won’t reopen. However whilst there’s still even a glimmer of hope for DSA it might be premature for HUY to make sufficient investment. Yes, lease negotiations seem to be continuing but both sides have to show they are behaving reasonably whilst CPO is on the agenda. What we don't know is how serious about lease both/either of them are. Should Peel agree a lease they will want to see the income from it coming in soon - they won't be kind and dance to the Councils timetable. That would mean the Council will face the hard commercial realities of reviving the airport from scratch sooner. It is unrealistic to think that TUI, Wizz and sundry other airlines will be coming forward for anything other than the very lowest of terms (they will know they have the upper hand) and that aviation critical staff can be easily recruited for what will be a risky venture.

Corendon Airlines based in Antalya are the main shirt sponsors of Hull City since Acun Illicali took over the club. They are reputed to have input a record breaking amount for this sponsorship, and of course have the "Hull City" aircraft. With a close tie to Hull and therefore the area I wondered if the possibility of a tie-up between themselves and HAT for holidays to Turkey has been investigated or even considered?

Wondered that myself, they’d need a bigger backer than just HAT though.

Good to see these continuing next year, and with better flight times in my opinion - Although probably comparable, the 5am flight home would put me off much more than the 11pm arrival in Bougras!

The Balkan programme starts with the first Friday outbound on 24th May. They are selling 7 night holidays departing Friday 13th September, so the final Friday inbound is on 20th September.
Monday flights start on 17th June and the final inbound and outbound is on 9th September when they only sell 11 day holidays to return on the final Friday flight.
Balkan have been cutting their offerings at airports where there is stiff competition. This even applies to Teesside, who have lost their second Bourgas flight.

New holiday operator launched -Holiday Best - led my ex Hays Travel chap. They plan to charter aircraft from Turkish airline Sunwind from May 2024. Sunwind have a fleet of 5? Boing 737 that have been used on routes to Russia from Turkey. According to reports on the web America have said these (leased??) aircraft can no longer be used for that purpose. Talk on the net about routes 9 UK airports gaining charter flights as a result. Any chance for HUY???

I’d love to think so but it’s very difficult to feel positive on the charter front given where we are. I’m still suprised there’s not been anything from tui

The airports were announced a few days ago. LBA is on the list, HUY isn’t.
Kind regards

Looking at the Holiday Fair advert on the HUY Web page I wonder why there is no mention of Tui.

A poster on Pprune has uploaded the full Tui summer 24 schedule. No major change, but looks like the Humberside flight next year is operating using an East midlands based, rather than Gatwick based - aircraft. If nothing else, it should be cheaper than shuttling crew to/from Gatwick.
PMI 1055 - HUY 1240 // HUY 1405 - PMI 1740
I would expect the schedules are nailed down for Summer 24 now, in so ruling out any expansion next year.

There will be no expansion as the owners do not want leisure flights. I would assume this is here purely because the airport management want it but their hands are probably tied.

Seems unlikely but I can’t get TUIs booking engine to show the 14th may departure. All other dates are bookable including returning on the 14th, which suggests the flight is operating.
Surely not sold out this far in advance??

TUIs showing no availability on 7th, 14th and 28th May - assume these are now fully booked. All other S24 dates showing as bookable as far as I can tell with dummy bookings.
