If Esbjerg operated 13 flights in January, that would be a load factor of around 48%? Doesn’t sound too bad to me being Eastern.

There were 12 Esbjerg rotations in January as there was a void for the New Year Bank Holiday. That would produce 24 flights and drag the average down to 7.6 passengers or 26.3%.
In December, if the inaugural flight carried 23 passengers, the remaining flights would have carried 8.
Recently there have been several departures when two check-in desks were used. It is unlikely that Eastern would have opened a second check-in desk for 8 passengers, so loads may be increasing.
It will be interesting to see if there is a correlation between the number of windfarm-related helicopter flights on the departure board and the number of Esbjerg passengers.
Windfarm activity has been relatively low recently, but has started to pick up.
December windfarm rotations 57 January windfarm rotations 58 February windfarm rotations 63 March projected windfarm rotations 77

That is a very low number, even when compared to ABZ.

Average passenger load on the Amsterdam route was 54.5 compared with 58.4 in December. The January average is usually 5 or six passengers lower than December's.
Average passenger load on the Aberdeen route was 15.6 compared with 11.6 in December and 14.0 in November. Last year, the January Average was about 3 passengers lower than December's.
The Enontekio load factor was 92.6%.

I understand that AMS still sees a high utilisation of the premium service which will undoubtably contribute to yield overall, although it is disappointing to see lower loads. Aberdeen seems to be getting busier. Questions marks over Esbjerg so far, I think those loads will need to pick up if they are to at least cover costs. Unless they are block selling seats to offshore wind suppliers.

Block selling sounds an interesting concept for a new route. Presumably it would produce a hybrid charter/scheduled service in the same way that Eastern operate the Jersey route.

Purely guessing, but the route will have needed some element of frequent industry support for Eastern to start it. Hopefully the loads will improve but like with all routes, if they start off slow they often fade out.
