Lets hope that that is true although it could just be press talk. Didn't SAS recently sign an agreement with Flybe to operate feeder services for them? Couldn't they take advantage of that perhaps?

Lots of concern being addressed on various forums about the year-on-year decline of passenger figures in January 2015. Not surprising given EZY's trimming of its network and the low pax totals on most of the Stobart Air routes. The collapse of the Dublin route is most annoying though. Why they had to change what was an increasingly successful arrangement, I don't know.... Let's hope for some good news from other operators soon. It's also good to recall what SEN was like in the winter only a few short years ago. Onward and upward.....

That was a most uninspiring interview, I have to say.
But why an interim post ? Have there been any further departures ?

Not sure what more he could say really. Let's hope SEN is more successful than Sheffield City Airport though!

That is good to hear but I suspect many passengers will be hoping for a menu less basic and more varied than implied in the news release.
They really need someone to check their historical facts for them before going into print. It will become even more embarrassing if any hard copy promotional material at the new restaurant gets it so wrong about Laker.
And Jon Horne is no longer "interim" ?

I read with interest on other forums regarding the state of various taxi ways, and stand 9 still being in need of repair. These areas have been in this state of steady decline for a year or more now and must be sorted out, as it is being stated that the reason for the loss of the Easy airframe this year being blamed on the states of taxi ways Bravo & Charlie and not helped be the continued lack of ground work to make stand 9 functional. We have seen the loss of far to many routes without real explenation why? with Easyjet taking Belfast, Edinburgh, Krakow also cutting back and making some destinations seasonal & Flybe moving Newquay to Stansted. Stobart have not helped by allowing the demise of the Dublin route to take place with the hand over to Flybe (who seem to have not wanted to operate from here anyway)and the removing of one airframe without looking at any other destinations that could have been viable. We have all witnessed the rapid growth in facilities and services from the airport and dont like the sudden turndown, so to continue with the steady upward progress lets please get the repairs carried out and keep trying to attract new airlines and routes which we know are there and will be viable.

London Coach Service
After talking about it for a long time Stobart have made an application for an operating licence to run two coaches between SEN and London according to Coach & Bus Week. Hopefully if this actually comes to fruition it will improve passenger access to SEN, especially for early flight departures and late evening arrivals. On the Adria website I noticed this week a reference to an 'airport bus service to London' listed among the travel options for arriving/departing passengers; perhaps this anticipates the commencement of such a service.

What a great idea. Why did none of us think of it before........?
It really is, as someone else has said elsewhere, about bl**dy time.

I wonder if the Stobart coach service really is likely to become a reality. I noticed today that there was a post on the SEN f/book page asking how to get to London after the last train at 23:05. The SEN reply suggested taxi or hire car and, would you believe, that you catch the X30 to STN and then take another coach to London from there. For this last option you have catch a train to Southend Victoria from where you can pick up the X30 as it doesn't pick up at SEN after the 22:11 service! No mention of future plans to run coaches themselves. It wouldn't be the first time that something which would add to SEN's success is not followed through.

Well, good luck to Jon Horne and his team. Hopefully the investment will include the taxiways and stands, plus a coach service. Flights to Malta, Milan, Nice, Copenhagen, Budapest, Krakow should all be sought.
