I feel they may well be back eventually, but that wouldn't be for a few years yet.

TCX look to have loaded TFS from LBA for Summer 13, which is taking seats on the new Monarch flight. Hopefully something for HUY will appear soon, but from what I have read elsewhere the LBA based MON A320s are going to be pretty much fully utilised, so a W pattern into HUY seems unlikely.

Im afraid next year will be bleak for leisure flights, Jet2 are not interested in any more airports in this part of the country.. Monarch would only w an aircraft in if there was sufficient interest from the tour operators. It seems there is not.

Looks like HAT are holding a 'Bulgaria Event' on 9th August. Such a shame to see their choice of destinations from Humberside becoming so sparse.

HAT Facebook entry says they hope to have Turkey flights announced within the next couple of months. An earlier entry advised the enquirer that flights would be known by October. Anybody know if summer charters have been announced this late before??

Well, all we can go on is that Thomas Cook are not selling DLM or PMI from HUY for next summer so far, however they have added extra flights to DLM and PMI for next year. I think that, and the apparant loss of Olympics HER flights should tell us all we need to know.

I'm sure Summer charters have been announced as late as October before - I think the crucial booking period is the New Year. Obviously the sooner the better, but October wouldn't be too late I'd guess that facebook news means they are in talks with someone, and a bit more than just preliminary talks - otherwise they'd be a bit stupid to mention that in public. Fingers crossed there is an announcement in the next couple of months Though I'm struggling to think who would be the tour operator or airline. Thomson don't seem interested in HUY, Thomas Cook look to be pulling out, as do Olympic. And there aren't many smaller tour operators left serving Turkey

With LBA still not being on sale with Thomas Cook then there is a small chance that HUY could see PMI and DLM on w patterns on a Monarch aircraft.. Then again why would they increase those routes from DSA and not have them on sale from HUY already?
To be honest HAT may not know whats going on themselves, and are just giving a timeline where they think any routes that may go back on sale would do.

Taken from HAT facebook page, in response to a question about when Turkey flights will be going on sale for S2013...
"Not on sale at the moment "we are currently looking at securing an aircraft", we should know if we have this by the end of the year"
Open to interpretation, but to me that implies HAT are seeking to charter an a/c, rather than as booking agent for TCX?
As a side question, are HAT owned by the airport (and if so are they now part of the Eastern ownership?), or a separate agency operating under the airport branding?

Mrmoose, I dont think it is to be taken in the literal sense. I think by 'securing an aircraft' they mean securing an operator.

Confirmation Humberside have lost Thomas Cook for Summer 2013 is now confirmed. The Saturday Palma flight is now on sale from Leeds (where our aircraft comes from) and it operates to the below schedule, with no w pattern into Humberside Leeds/Bradford-Majorca 08:10 11:40 Majorca-Leeds/Bradford 12:40 14:15

Confirmed then that there is just the one weekly charter for S13, however I think Thomas Cook were clear with their intentions when they shifted the capacity to DSA.
I hope Eastern allow for better incentives offered to the low-costs, as I believe Vantage are unwilling to lower their charges any longer.

This sounds disappointing, but what does need to be noted is that Thomas Cook Airlines will no longer operated the flights - instead Monarch will be operating their own scheduled flights with TCX taking seats - with the TCX base at Leeds closing.
It is therefore still possible that TCX or MON, may operate a W in from another airport - or TCX charter another airline (preferably with based aircraft in Palma) to operate the flights such as Air Europa. Perhaps the HAT facebook statement "looking at securing an aircraft" could allude to this - But then maybe im living at hope/clutching at straws!

Were that to be the case there would have been no problem in getting them on sale long before now. The flights have simply been moved to DSA.. Turkey is in demand from HUY, but how they are going to manage to get those destinations back, not to mention Cyprus and Crete remains to be seen. The only way I can see is gaining a based operator, which will hopefully be on the agenda under new ownership. Tony Lavan pursued a policy of small step growth, however without significant investment like setting up a base these airlines just come and go.
I fear news from jetXtra is only a couple of weeks away.
