Error - the Jetxtra Alicante season is similar to last year by the looks of it. School holidays May and the main summer break late July into early September.

Good news! Surprised to hear they are going for Summer Holidays only, as the route probably has as much potential for ferrying ex-pats as those wanting their week in the sun during the 6 week holidays. I was also hoping to see at least Alicante operating all season like summer 2013. Still positive news though, and I am sure Malaga will be popular. Looks like all 3 flights will operate on Saturdays next year.

Good to see a small bit of growth by jetXtra and the return of Malaga to the destination board JetXtra are semmingly being cautious which seems rather sensible to me after their original failed launch, the never started TFS service and the overcapacity last year when they used Volotea I think we can safely assume from the lack of growth from the other HUY operators that the market is proving to be a challenge at the moment. It's disappointing that the Volotea 717 seemed to be too much capacity, there seemed to be quite a bit of marketing in the local papers and on the radio last year about the new routes too. Jetxtra's cautious approach does seem to be the most sensible given what we are now seeing happening at big players like Monarch. If they can slowly and quietly grow while the times are tough they should be in a good position when things improve. Strange how there has been no mention of the new flights so far from Jetxtra, I wonder if HUY has announced this early to try and spread some 'cheer' before they've actually confirmed everything.

Looks like return tickets to Malaga and Majorca on the Jetxtra flights with BA are on sale, on-line, from Teleticket and the likes but no singles are available. HAT are selling the same with the additional offer of telephone sales of returns to Alicante as well.

Not bad flight times. I do wonder about the cost effectiveness of operating the charters using 3 separate aircraft, with 6 positioning flights each week. Would it not be cheaper to operate a single aircraft over the full weekend during the school holidays (e.g position in Saturday am, operate Alicante, Palma, night stop, then sunday Malaga?). Surely to night-stop the plane and put the crew up in a local hotel would work out cheaper? It would be a long day for the crew, but other airlines seem to operate fine with these sort of working patterns.

New Jetxtra web site now starting to appear - www.jetxtra.uk.com. with details of summer 2015 This "new" website, is now showing "World Choice Air.com" as the company title (and www.worldchoiceair.com links direct to Jetxtra.uk.com). The official JetXtra.com website has not been updated for some time, and includes no details of any Summer 2015 offering. It would seem foolish to abandon a JetXtra.com web address in place of a JetXtra.uk.com web address - particually as most of the marketing as been the company advertised as JetXtra.com. Perhaps JetXtra is about to change its name?

Yes, mrmoose, I agree the websites are either out of date (Jetxtra.com) or in-complete (jetxtra.uk.com) and anyone following-up the HAT e mail or airport website advert would be very confused.
I assume they've decided to give HAT, Teleticket and other travel agencies advance access to the flights before they (Worldchoice?Jetxtra?) have their website(s) ready for holidays and flights. It remains to be seen what brand name is used - it would be silly to abandon Jetxtra after 2 years of trading. Maybe Worldchoice Air will be offering holiday packages and Jetxtra flight only? Whatever, the old and new web addresses need to link otherwise the benefit of 2 years trading would be diluted.
On another topic - has anyone any info on Thomas Cook? They've still no flights on their website from Southampton, London Southend as well as Humberside. I can understand why they might drop 2 routes from HUY but they've been doing significantly more from SOU and plan to do so according to their brochures.

No news that I know of. It doesnt bode well, with Doncaster gaining a Monday Dalaman flight using Pegasus at the same times HUY operated this year. Hopefully they will pull something out of the bag

Looking like Worldchoiceair will be the new brand under which the Alicante, Palma and Malaga flights are being sold and will be sold. (See the airports list of operators on their website.)
I'm intrigued as to the reason for abandoning a brand name they initially fought so hard to keep after 2 seasons of building-up a profile with some success. Time will tell if it's significant in terms of future expansion either at Humberside or other airports. There has been twittering about Liverpool.
