"Expressflight deserves a good holiday after his perseverance in dealing with the trolls on pprune."

The airline Press Release due on Wednesday was held back for tactical reasons. Maybe it will be issued in the coming week. It will be news concerning the airline itself so don't expect too much regarding SEN, although it should get a mention.

The airline Press release will be at the end of this month and it is Join Regional Airlines, they looking at starting operations at end of Febuary 2013, first routes will be known at the press release and their website will be up and running then. Lets hope there will be some new routes from London Southend.

There will certainly be one or two surprises in the PR from what most might be expecting, but don't expect too much for SEN initially. I wish I could say more but cannot unfortunately, although everyone knows it is Join! we're talking about. I'm rather surprised so much was revealed in the published email on PPRuNe today, but he's the boss.

I really don't know when it will be - I think it best to just wait and see but really I think they would put the press release out before Christmas for more news to be announced in the New Year.

They want to have the airport slots in place for their initial routes before announcing them, hence the delay to the PR which they say will be issued "at the time we consider the correct time". I would assume that will be before Christmas but who knows.
I don't expect SEN to be one of those initial routes by the way.

A Flybe E195 will be operating a pax charter to Bergen on 8th February. The aircraft will position in empty at 09:10 and depart at 10:00.

It will be good to see flyBE back, even if they are so negative about SEN. Also good to see an E195 operate from the extended runway. Let's hope it is the first of many.

It's a charter to fly a touring orchestra back to Bergen, so it will presumably have been a broker who realised that SEN would be the most convenient departure airport.

There was statement from KLM in a recent news article stating that it wants to add 3 new routes to UK destination in 2013 on top of Manston. As you can imagine people are thinking SEN, but I can't see it happening bearing in mind EZY operate the route already.

Unlikely, I'd have thought. I hear Cambridge has been in discussions with KLM......
