Pug don't ou find it odd the way FR are going about thing with DSA & HUY? why add routes one year to abandon the next only to bring them back again 2 years later. surely a bit of stability would be far better for them& the airports?

Its unfortunate that things with ALC could not have been sorted, as HUY was set to operate again this year (though DSA was not??), however Gerona have recently made an agreement with FR which requires some significant expansion and I guess DSA is proven in that respect as it operated for a few years until a couple of years ago.
I dont suppose the ongoing reshuffle of management at MAG is helping matters, and I'm not sure if much has been done to attract/maintain operators due to this.

Alicante air-bridges row - looks like Ryanair have lost their latest appeal to the Spanish courts. Will they now quietly re-instate some of the next tier of profitable routes or let the withdrawals stand???

Didnt they say they would reinstate all routes if the airport did a complete u-turn? All of the flights except DSA and HUY have been replaced by other operators.
That DSA was chopped a month before HUY (which made it to the final cuts, along side LGW), common sense dictates that they would return to HUY if they were to reinstate all lost routes. But then common sense and FR dont always go together, neither does predictability

Not sure why the airport are hopeful it will return. Are they on a promise? As you say, Ryanair are not predictable but they are in one respect, that is the pursuit of the most profitable routes for their aircraft. In the Spanish courts it's 2 nil now to Aena so what Ryanair will do now will be interesting.

Not sure that they are? All I know is that the airport have said there is a chance Ryanair may return. I guess the appointment of Ken O'toole by MAG may help with group wide deals, particularly with FR!
Well how long were the toys out of the pram with GRO for? Its an interesting one, Alicante is such a big market for them, and all of their competitors have been given pretty much an open door. Corvera in the future perhaps? Or local Government incentives like the recent return to GRO?
What I do know is that FR are trying to concentrate on their UK bases, so I suppose airports like HUY (and DSA) will play second fiddle with their relative proximity to EMA and LBA.

Ryanair advert for Alicante on the airport website when I visited a couple of minutes ago. I presume some one hasn't realised it needs removing

Rumour of a Ryanair/Aena meeting next week at ALC which could see the settlement of the air bridges dispute and re-reinstatement of axed UK flights.

Humberside still showing on the Ryanair route map and is on the route map in their Jan/Feb in flight magazine. Must be there for a reason?

The reason is probably that the flights were still going ahead at time of printing the inflight mag, so I wouldnt read into it. HUY is still on the FR online route map too.
As for the rumoured meeting with AENA. We can hope for something positive but I wont hold my breath..

A report on 'P' says that FR have removed all sineage from the airport. and are not coming back this summer. Also potential good news., the airport is in talks with an established carrier.
