Air UK Summer 1985 Following the early 1980's recession, Air UK were showing confidence in the market by expanding rapidly at Stansted (albeit with Shorts 330, Shorts 360 and F27). They also re-claimed the Heathrow route at Humberside and took over the Humberside-Esbjerg route when Genair failed. Southend may have suffered from the Stansted expansion because they dropped the SEN routes instead of upgrading them when they phased out the Bandeirantes.
