I do find it unlikely that DUB would be one of the routes, if (big if) HUY is going to be a base then i would expect little more than a blk style operation. I see no reason why there could not be an extra aircraft based down the line either. Still as i say, was expecting something to be released by now to put us out of our misery. I think it could just fizzle out again like it has before.

I actually think we have a good chance this time. That DUB rumour just adds to momentum, and we know there will be a new base announced by Jet 2 for next summer
DUB could be to HUY, what BFS is to BLK

The gut feeling by some (me included) is that DSA will get it. I dont know why exactly but they have been in talks before and are far more likely to offer an exceptional deal that what HUY can offer. They also have a diversion contract and 24hr operations. The only thing suggesting this is unlikely is the statement that EMA would serve the Sheffield region also.
I do hope i am proved wrong though, the choice of EMA could have sealed the fate of HUY for the better, its just a waiting game now.
Still find DUB unlikely due to the poor uptake of FR and the higher fares of LS (though through higher fares yield may be better?) but i suppose DSA has lost its DUB route and LS may be interested in entering into DUB in retaliation at FR for moving into LBA..

My feelings are that HUY will get it,why, why have T/C given up the Saturday slot to Palma and Sunday to Dalaman,is it to let JET 2 do these Sat/Sunday flights and T/C to also take seats, enabling T/C to do 10/11 day holidays.

I would think a Jet2 Dublin service could work. DSA now has no DUB, and there has to be some kind of a gap in the market. Some of the FR loads on Mon, Fri, Sat and Sun were decent, and something along the lines of M--TF-S could work with the smaller capacity 733.

I suspect the incident at MAN could have affected any announcement perhaps? They will have to make something public soon or they will be leaving it too late to put next summer on sale.

The LoCo's keep releasing summer schedules earlier every year. It wasn't so long ago that November/December was normal. Traditionally straight after Christmas is when many summer holidays are booked
Also AFAIK Flybe/Easyjet/Ryanair haven't got anything on sale for peak summer yet

Surely its traditionaly earlier for the tour operator market? XL was announced sep/oct was it not? I just hope they announce something soon, put us out of our misery!
I see MME has fallen below HUY now in pax handling! 25% below in fact!! Peel will be happy.

The tour operator market is on sale now, but the big push usually comes in the New Year, so while obviously it helps to have flights/holidays on sale ASAP, I don't think it's essential

That poster has since posted that the two week period given for the announcement in an earlier rumour has come and gone, hence his/her post. Which is indeed true

They really are keeping us in suspense, I am checking the Jet2 website daily and nothing. I really hope the whole Meeson incident hasn't scuppered HUY's chance. Then economy is in recovery, next summer would be the best time to start up.

I dont see why it would scupper HUY's chance as it was a disagreement with Aviance not MAG. Aviance dont operate at HUY. I too hope that an announcement is made soon, its quite a frustrating wait, i just hope its not in vein!

With todays announcement of extra services at and a/c at MAN then i would assume an announcement of the new base is imminent... Though could the extra aircraft at MAN be the one origionaly destined for a new base?
