Heard from a very creditable source that Humberside may see some Jet2 action soon. Seen that some spare capacity has come free due to route loses and some capacity cuts the airline wants to better utilise the fleet I take it after last weeks announcement of extra Spain/Portugal capacity from LBA/MAN/NCL/GLA that there is no chance of this now hapenning?

Who knows H, there is substance in this, but we wont know unless they actually announce something. It would definately fit in with the HUY apparant growth model (small growth as opposed to large step growth) so it could happen at some point.
I would think that its getting a bit too late for anything this summer now though.

Well i've just worked out that LBA now only needs 8x B737-300's and 3x B757-200 this summer.
Thus this will make sure that an Boeing 737-300 aircraft will be spare at LBA all week every week this summer. Before some of the cuts and rearrange flights LBA needed a 9th B737-300.
But they may now just use this as a spare back-up aircarft for the rest of the fleet. As in previous years there has normally been a spare aircraft parked at LBA.

Have a look at forums 4 HUY section on Jet 2. some guy has got a timetable of flights for 2012 Summer and Winter. A lot of hard work gone into it, and i am impressed with him for doing this, if only!!

Yes well the runour of Jet2 has gone very quiet again. I tend to think HUY has missed the boat as far as Jet2 goes. They will be looking at bigger bases further south next year I feel. Hope I'm proved wrong.

Rumour on Pprune regarding Jet2 operating BJV (Mon), TFS (Tue), and DLM (Wed) from SEN starting July 2012 using B757. Sounds more plausible than a group of domestic routes from there if they announce anything. Flights to change in winter to LCA, TFS and ACE on same days.
There had been rumours some time ago that HUY were talking to Jet2 regarding a similar setup. I wonder that if they come to an agreement with SEN, that the aircraft could be free a further 3-4 days a week for something like that to work at HUY?
EDIT; Been told this is a load of rubbish.. Jet2 could not afford to operate from any non-base miles away from any other crew base.

is SEN's runway long for a 757 with a full load of pax & fuel to get to Dalaman? i doubt it.

Well if the rumours are true it sounds like that Jet2 are to announce there first European mainland base in Spain with 2x Boeing 737-300 aircraft been stationed out at Alicante starting from this summer 2013 season. So I would suppose that Jet2’s aircraft might start to appear at some non UK based airports. I could name a few airports that would warrant it including Humberside...

Interesting, as it makes w patterns possible like the LCH flights. Does seem to be a reliable poster on Pprune. I do think there will be others in front of HUY however.

According to a local Alicante airport forum this is true and the purpose is to increase frequency on existing routes during the summer peak. Taking the opportunity to pick up some business following Ryanair's latest dummy spitting session no doubt.
