Nothing for Humberside in the Flybe re-deployment exercise and I'm not surprised. DSA must be investing heavily to bring 2 195's to their airport. Flybe is under pressure to show it's investors that these assets (the 195s) will start to earn so the deal must have been something they think will please investors - not aviation enthusiasts. On the face of it it's a bit of gamble for DSA but I suppose they need to try something to turn-around the fortunes of the airport. It will be interesting to see the routes they offer.

It's still good news for the area, as 2 E195s is far better than HUY could hope to keep busy. Hopefully this time it will work out well for DSA.
I expect one of the destinations will be AMS, so would be interesting to see whether it would impact KLM from HUY at all..

I don't think KLM should be to concerned, they offer a better quality of service and their connectivity at AMS is probably the best in Europe. As far as I know the HUY service is still one of the most profitable to UK. There was also talk of having a revamp and offering hot food in the business lounge when I was in there a couple of weeks ago. The bacon buttie at LBA is the only plus for flying from there.

Ditto - The KLM connectivity is what makes the route a success, and Flybe don't have this, although they could attempt to compete on point to point leisure passengers. I think we are much more likely to see "low cost" bucket and spade routes to spain & portugal than City routes personally, but time well tell.
The best HUY could hope for is some W patterns in from APG, ALC etc, but this seems unlikely.

HUY can't hope for anything from BE on the back of this. This could be stronger for DSA than previous attempts, as BE need this to work as much (if not more so) than DSA do.
I think a mix of some sun routes and some city, AMS will most likely feature, with code share of some kind,

IIRC KLM unions restrict codeshares to two routes per airline. For Flybe those are SOU-AMS and INV-AMS. Other routes just have an interline

As pug says, the new services will be welcome and very useful to many people in the area. Hopefully they will generate an adequate income stream for the airport. If not, there will be concern that the proprietors might be buying market share from other airports regardless of cost.

The best outcome for Humberside would be for mrmoose to be proved correct, as the routes would only be competing with a small proportion of what is currently on offer at HUY. It might even persuade Thomson/TUI to move a few flights to Humberside in order to improve loads and yields.

Humberside appears to have been removed from the Flybe drop-down list and their route map. It was there until yesterday. Maybe in the process of up-loading, maybe the tour operators will be looking for a charter airline.

This is also not available to book through Airways travel at the moment, which only promotes the user to try MAN, EM and LBA. Teneriffe for 2017 Summer season has also been announced as axed today, with the winter still going ahead, and Thomson's PMI A/c changing to a 737-800.

HAT posting holidays ex HUY to Jersey on Facebook today so they must have some confidence that the route will appear. Posters on other sites are saying that the full Flybe release may not be until the end of November.

Not sure what the deal is here. Timings suggest a HUY based aircraft. Have the sub chartered an Eastern or BACF machine or is there more to come? Maybe the aircraft positions in from DSA or another base?
Kind regards

I agree permit123 - interesting change of times. The booking page shows Flybe as the operator for the flight. The "normal" timetable has not been updated to include Humberside yet but the "connections" timetable includes Humberside and shows a Saturday and Sunday flight for the same April to September period but no details. Could well be an error but the longer season is welcome anyway.
