The current timetable shows an improving level of service but not consistently at three per day. 82 arrivals are planned for July and 81 in August. One worrying feature is that on 28th August, (the very day that LBA goes 4 daily), there are only two arrivals as the afternoon arrival is missing.

3 departures on the 29th August, so I'd say the 28th is just part of the 'lack of consistency' we are currently seeing

Court of appeal in Netherlands has ruled that a slot restriction at AMS with a minimum reduction of 8% can go ahead. This I think is not a great omen for HUY sadly.
Only hope is that there is merit to KLM providing an economic boost and that easyjet and the like ferrying in stag parties may be the ones to take the hit.

Excuse me if people feel I’m talking too soon, but it’s encouraging to see some larger aircraft on the HUY-AMS, and also some more consistent (for now) 3 x daily schedules taking place.
Traditional downturn time for business travel perhaps by affecting Humberside too much due to the shipping business. The news of the go-ahead being given for another large wind farm off the coast of the Humber region may generate some more traffic.

It does seem a bit more positive of late, both in larger aircraft and consistent schedule. Tomorrow we have 2 rotations on 190 and one with the 170, compared with teeside just having the 6am departure and 9pm arrival

Opens up some good prices and connections to sun routes. For example Alicante over Christmas £256 return.

A two year old article by Simpleflying analyses KLM'S UK operations.
Interestingly, their second biggest city pairing in 2019 was Teesside/Alicante at 13,238. It would be interesting to know how many HUY passengers used KLM for European sun routes.
Humberside had the highest proportion of connecting passengers at 67%. The average was 55% with 45% point to point. The highest point to point was London City at 80%.
The winter timetable for HUY shows 20 rotations per week (3 per day less Saturday afternoon).

The link between MME and ALC is interesting, I’m wondering whether there are any industrial synergies. I know there are a few shipping companies in the Humber region with offices in Alicante. However, when I’ve looked previously at the booking engine with a view to avoiding long trips to distant airports like MAN not only is the cost prohibitive but so is the time, there tends to be a fair bit of layover at AMS and therefore it could take 10 hours from leaving HUY to arriving in ALC, which isn’t really competitive at all. It still saddens me that when FlyBe did their weekly AGP they were seeing load factors of 97% I recall. Why then does this not help to entice that sort of business now? There is arguably a significantly larger amount of latent demand here than there is for MME which has competitors that are easier to get to. Good to see KLM operating a regular schedule again, long may it continue.

I wondered if the Alicante figures at MME were driven by Fairs-Lloyds Travel (who are based at MME with a branch at HUY). I looked at their website, which is rather uninformative and could not see any packages which would have gone through Alicante in 2019.

Think it must have been a planned cancellation - nothing on the airport departure boards or on FR24. Same for the mid-morning today (19/8).
Means just 1 AMS departure today at 5pm on the E175. Looks like there is the nightstopper tonight again.
