Air France/KLM are due to take a minority stake in SAS, with SAS switching to SkyTeam. There are some potential positives for HUY here: -A SAS codeshare on HUY-AMS can't do any harm -A long shot, but it might increase the chances of HUY-CPH on SAS returning -It might help KLM's AMS slot situation if some Nordic passengers can be routed via CPH rather than AMS But that last point could be a 'double edged' sword if there are less HUY-Nordic connecting opportunities via AMS in the future

Yes, the E190 upgrade hopefully indicates that HUY bookings are showing a belated return to form as the schedule returns to near-normal. It is interesting to note that the MME planned schedule remains at three E175's. Considering the recent heavy investment there, one might have expected one or two of their daily flights to have had its capacity increased.

The airport are clearly at least doing something to try to support the route and promote it with the partnership as posted by Humberside above. Wonder whether in the case of HUY, the frequent passengers are still using the service and it’s the other business that maybe has fallen off in the last few years? Certainly hope so. When I last used it it seemed to be full of people positioning to and from ships and by people from the renewables sector travelling to and from Scandinavia. Obviously that’s purely anecdotal but it’s always been my understanding that it’s been well supported by the core industries in the Humber.

8700 passengers in September 2023, going by KirmingtonUsers reckoning there were 150 rotations during that month, I’m not sure of breakdown between 175 and 190 but if it was purely 175 then that would be a load factor of around 65%. Pre-pandemic levels still not reached but it seems neither have service levels. Confident that the shipping business is keeping regular income for the route.

Although were not back up to pre-covid, the numbers are very very encouraging to me. Obviously these will level off, and I imagine we will soon reach that point, but the fact we have posted growth every month other than Feb this year shows promise to me. (% is the change on the previous month)
Jan - 5230 Feb - 4915 -6% Mar - 6466 +31% Apr - 6880 +6% May - 7311 +6% Jun - 7685 +5% Jul - 7963 +3% Aug - 8109 +2% Sep - 8700 +7%
If the current rate continues, then Id hope to see us breach the 9000 in Octobers numbers when they come out

Flight Global reports that the Dutch Government will not be reducing the allowed Schiphol slots total in Summer 2024 as previously planned. This follows criticism from the U.S.A. on the grounds that the policy was anti-competitive.

Thanks for highlighting this possible schedule change. I hope someone on this forum can make sense of the KLM timetable because I am currently confused. The KLM booking engine shows only two flights per day in April 2024 with no afternoon rotation. 14 rotations per week. KLM Flight Status shows only a nightstopper each day in April 2024. 7 rotations per week. November 2024 is fine with the usual three daily rotations. Hopefully they are still working on the timetable and adding flights. The worry is that KLM Flight Status usually starts off with the full complement and then gets reduced by cancellations. Fingers crossed that the Schiphol slot problem is not biting with a vengeance!
